Enjoying time with the Family as I keep hold of the reason for this awesome day. Thank-you Jesus:)

I honestly thought that NY would make Christmas an unfamiliar experience. Being here has reminded me that it's not about where you physically are that makes an experience. It's not about the familiar smells, sounds or traditions, although they are greatly appreciated. It's about the state of your heart.

Last night was an awesome experience. The Rockefeller Center + Time square + dinner at Da Ciro + quality time with the family= a very awesome Christmas :)

It’s an uphill battle making the hardest decisions that are the best for you. You've done it before, the back and forth. You take those first slow and drudging steps of victory but familiarity has you bond by a small, neat and comfortably tied string around your ankles. You only get so far before realizing that the thought of the unknown, the flickers of sunlight beyond the hill are even more terrifying than the sinking mud at the base. But you do it once again; you take those steps up the unexpected path as pebbles pierce the calloused soles of your feet. It’s even tougher to keep your toes from sliding and to hold your ground once you’ve climbed that hill; especially when everything inside of you screams for the comfort and familiarity of that person, that place or the hill base itself…But if your focus is steadily maintained on what lies ahead, the past, no matter how comforting can not compare to the anticipation of what lies ahead. The best adventures in life are just beyond the hills we have yet to climb.

I consider our lives..our flickers of existence, rays of light.. created to poke holes in the darkness.
